The purpose is to substantiate a link and give some examples of what this relationship may be like. 17 czerwca 2013 r. w Genewie i w Watykanie ogłoszono wspólny dokument teologów rzymskokatolickich i luterańskich pt.: Od konfliktu do komunii. Luterańsko-katolickie wspólne upamiętnienie Reformacji w 2017 r. Jego celem było głębsze, bezpośrednie przygotowanie luteranów i katolików do wspólnego upamiętnienia 500. rocznicy Reformacji. Przesłanie deklaracji stało się inspiracją dla przygotowania niniejszego opracowania.
